Our 5 Favorite Things About Fall

It’s the season of PSL. We’ll spell that out for Kim – Pumpkin Spice Latte. We probably should have held our Basic Party in fall because nothing is more basic than plaid, scarves, apple orchards and PSLs. Fall is almost here. We like summer, but we LOVE fall. It’s one of our favorite times of the year. It’s filled with a lot of fun activities, including the kickass ones listed below. As far as we’re concerned, the first day that it reaches below 65 degrees, it’s game on. Because, we are nothing if not creative, we broke out our favorite fall activities using our favorite letter – “F.”

Fun

When you think fall fun, you immediately imagine yourself drinking hot apple cider, and rocking the buffalo plaid, riding boots and fedora while frolicking through the apple orchard. If you’re really lucky, a photographer will be following you around to capture all of those cliché moments. Honestly, we’re all for that. Grab your family or friends and head out to an orchard to pick some apples. While you’re at it, you can run through a corn maze, make a scarecrow, or just take in the sights and smells of autumn. Seriously, does anything smell better than fall? Fall is also synonymous with football, which is another one of our favorite “f” words. We’re big fans of hoodies in our favorite team colors, as well as tailgating and then hanging out in the stands of local colleges, high schools, or community teams.

Fashion

It’s not fall without fashion. As soon as that first 60-degree day hits, jeans and booties are out in full force. People everywhere start rocking the gray, burgundy, orange, mustard yellow and brown. Now’s the time to pull out the plaid shirts, corduroy skirts, and infinity scarves (in buffalo plaid, of course). They don’t call it sweater weather for nothing.

Food

The best part about fall? The bulky sweaters. No one is going to notice the 5 lbs you gain from tailgating, PSL overdosing and eating all those donuts. Our other favorite fall treats include hot apple cider (make sure to add a splash—by that we mean a generous pour—of brandy to yours), powdered donuts, oven-roasted pumpkin seeds, and more. Speaking of donuts, our team is a huge fan of Robinette’s. They offer delicious apple cider and unbeatable donuts. Since you’re stopping, grab us a dozen.

Films

Now that you’ve frolicked, dressed and eaten your fall goodies, it’s movie time. Kick back, grab the oversized blanket, turn on your fireplace and relax. Start with Halloweentown, then go to Hocus Pocus, and finish up with The Rocky Horror Picture Show. If you need more, Freeform typically hosts 31 Nights of Halloween starting in October, so you’re bound to scare the shit out of yourself all fall long.

Friends

The nights are getting longer, and the days are getting shorter (we’re pretty sure that’s a country song). Invite your buddies over for some good ‘ol wholesome fun. Break out your inner Martha Stewart (she’s probably getting high with Snoop), and host a harvest party with handmade autumnal decorations (like this super easy pinecone garland). Make sure to invite your friends over. Hand them some knives, a pumpkin and let the games begin. After you’ve returned from the ER and Bob’s gotten his finger sewed back on, it’s time to break out the fire pit. Nothing beats a warm fire on a cool fall night. Toast marshmallows, sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar and pair them with Baileys. You’re welcome. Whether we’re out crunching leaves or crushing goals, we put our all into everything we do. Need a team that can help you harvest the fruits of your labors?
